"'Bend of the River' is a place to still the mind and refresh the soul. There’s something to see everywhere ... plants, flowers, birds, horses, more birds. Best of all we have lots of new memories...."

“Thank you so much for sharing your paradise of a place with us. It will always be in a special place in our hearts – absolutely impossible to forget. I feel like crying – I don’t want to leave but hope to come back sometime in the future”
Eva (10 years old), Sydney
“Justy's place was gorgeous and cosy, just like what we saw in the pictures. It was exquisitely decorated, and so different from all other places we'd ever stayed.
We saw an adorable koala bear up on a tall tree, and lots of peacocks and horses. Having lived all my life in big cities, this was something I'd never experienced."
''This was by far the greatest Air BnB experience I've ever had. What a very special place. When you walk in the door you have this overwhelming feeling like you're home - or at least the home you wished you had. It catered to every creature comfort, with freshly laid eggs and bread on the table and exotic fruits picked right out of the orchard in front of you. There's not enough I can say about how much we enjoyed our time here.
This is the perfect place for a family, group of friends, hens weekend, weddings - you name it. Thank yo so much for making our stay so special - we almost missed a wedding because we didn't want to leave the house!"
“The location is perfect as we could reach the beach within a 15 min drive. Nice shopping in the vicinity. Even though there are 2 golf courses nearby the traffic was not busy and we were not distracted by their presence. The homestead is located on a high spot and from there we can see the bend of the river and the sprawling fruit orchards.
It was amazing to be visited by peacocks and guinea fowls. Fresh organic eggs are available from the friendly and healthy-looking free-range hens.
The homestead was just amazing, cosy, immaculately clean and stocked. Very highly recommended.”

"My family and I had a wonderful stay at Bend of the River. We were welcomed with a delicious freshly baked cake and eggs from the resident chooks - which the children loved collecting each day.
The house is clean, comfortable, full of warmth and charm and is situated to provide a great view across the property and beyond to the river and valley. The property's vast orchard makes for great exploring and sampling.
We loved our stay and would highly recommend to others."
"I am amazed and grateful to have been allowed to walk, talk, eat, drink and sleep in such a home as Bend Of The River.
Emily's delight at "picking" fresh laid eggs, our new friends the rooster, Denis and his "girls", "Drew" Peacock, plus all the other fowl, will live forever in our families folklore. I, at the same time, have feelings of trespass, and deep privilege, to have been allowed to have just a small taste of your family's Eden. What is it about Bend that pulls these parts of ourselves, perhaps not always willingly, to the surface? Surely magic resides there."
"It has been a privilege to be in this lovely home with its precious memories and natural beauty. This is where my grandchildren have had their first music lesson on the loved piano. This is where they came up close and personal to real farm life, looking after the environment and drinking real rain water! For the first time a 69 year old granny has experienced the warmth of picking up a freshly laid egg!"
"Thank you so much for letting us share your family home - it is so beautiful, peaceful and interesting - new feasts for the eye wherever you look. We all said it has been the best place we've found in all our years of long weekends away together. Thank you for sharing the joy, the fruit and the eggs..."

"Bend of the River is more than a place to stay, it is a place to be. The sub tropical grounds and gardens are beautiful and a joy to explore. The house has some great spaces with a wonderful warmth embedded in family history.
It is not difficult to get to shops or the beach though you might find yourself happy to hang out and restore your soul under a tree or on a verandah. The kitchen is very useable and invites you to eat in and enjoy the evenings without the city lights."
Caroline and Peter, Rikki, Luke and Isabella, Wishart, QLD
"Us three couples have been going away together for long weekends for years and all of us said this house and Justy's kind generousity was just the best. We'd actually all just like to move in!
Firstly the house is beautiful - the orchard setting, the nearby walks and all the animals - geese, chooks horses and more. The house is so well -equipped, with all you could want to cook up a storm. And there we found a freshly baked cake, new laid eggs and tropical fruits we couldn't even name.
Its amazing that this little slice of heaven can be just 10 minutes drive from Currumbin Beach and 5 minutes drive to supermarkets and more."
